Lecture by the School Principal on Ecology

As part of the ecological research with younger students, on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, the school principal, Katarina Stjepanović, conducted workshops on the topics of environmental protection, recycling, and global warming.

The students were highly motivated to answer the questions posed and to share their ideas and suggestions on how children can and should protect planet Earth. When asked where and when they first heard about ecology and environmental protection, most students responded that their first knowledge came from kindergarten, that they discuss it with their parents, and that they have expanded their knowledge in school and actively participate in cleaning and maintaining the school yard.

The workshops were held in four classes: I/2, II/4, III/2, and IV/1.

Students who attend the after-school program informed the principal that they had formed small ecological patrols with their teachers and often clean the school yard when they are not in class. They came up with the idea to organize similar patrols in their neighborhoods to make their living environment more beautiful and healthier with the help of their parents, other residents, and friends.

At the end of the class, students expressed many interesting ideas and suggestions for environmental conservation through their drawings.
