Project Model Lesson in English and German

As part of the Erasmus+ project 'Digitalization for All,' on November 24, 2023, in the 6/4 classroom, a model lesson in English and German was conducted, showcasing the use of digital tools and applications. The teaching unit 'Was musst du zu Hause tun' in German and 'Talking about prohibition and obligation' in English were covered. The aim of the lesson was for students to recognize similarities and differences between German and English, particularly in the use of modal verbs, and to expand their vocabulary in both languages for use in speaking and writing.

For the preparation of this lesson, English teacher Natasha Veselinović and German teacher Irena Čanak utilized Adobe Express tools (where a web video was created), Comica (for creating a dialogue strip), and Kahoot (for a quiz).

The students were divided into four coherent groups, and at the beginning of the class, they watched a video presentation in Adobe Express, where they could observe similarities and differences between the two languages. While watching, they took notes to use in the following task. The task was to create dialogues/strips in both English and German. Afterwards, they competed in a quiz using the Kahoot application, thereby consolidating the material related to household chores. A particularly interesting part of the class was when students designed their future robot and later saw what that robot could do instead of them, using commands in both English and German. In the final part of the class, the students spun a fun wheel and described what they saw in the picture, using both languages.

Present at the class were the school director Katarina Stjepanović, school psychologist Branka Mitrović Josipović, English teachers Aleksandra Đorđević and Jelena Đorđević, and mathematics teacher Anđela Miletić.
