From May 7 to May 10, 2024, elementary schools in Serbia marked the Week of Remembrance and Unity with various activities. During this period, schools conducted different activities in memory of the victims from Vladislav Ribnikar Elementary School, in Dubona and Malo Orašje, and of the crimes in Niška Banja.
The Week of Remembrance and Unity was observed for the first time in our school through discussions with children and art activities. On this occasion, boards dedicated to accepting diversity and promoting friendship were displayed in the school hall and classrooms.
The aim of the Week of Remembrance and Unity is to simultaneously support the families and friends of the tragically deceased, as well as to raise awareness in the school and the wider community about the importance of preventing violence among young people and promoting friendship, understanding, humanity, empathy, tolerance, respect, and dialogue among youth.
